Jump Party Center
|Jump indoor party center in Ronkonkoma is a large play space that is filled with inflatable bounce houses and a video game center. It's primary business is parties, but they have a daily open play time as well.|
Jump is located in an industrial park in Ronkonkoma, between Ocean Avenue and Vet's Highway. There is plenty of parking, and a large sign on the outside makes it easy to find among the numbingly similar brick buildings that fill the area.
The interior at Jump is wide open and painted in a variety of bright colors. It is very well lit and climate controlled, making it a fun stop during even the worst weather days. There are seven huge inflatable play areas, each with it's own theme. The tiger mouth leads to a toddler area, where smaller children can enjoy some mild bouncing and a small slide and climbing area.
A large pirate ship inflatable offers a climb that leads up to a long slide. At the bottom, there is an additional jumping area. This was a tough bouncer to keep an eye on kids -- the walls are high and you can't really see what's going on inside from the floor. It's best left for bigger kids who can easily make the climb.
There are two bouncer rooms at Jump, and the second one has more of an active theme. There is one standard inflatable with a big slide, climbs and a bounce floor. There is also this huge slide, which can accommodate a number of kids at the same time and a basketball pop-a-shot. Other than the large size, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to have an inflatable basketball game -- the rims often sag. The first room does feature an inflatable basketball court, which lets kids soar through the air and dunk.
A very cool ball cannon court is also found in the second room. Kids can take sides and fire soft foam balls at each other from over an inflatable wall that invites climbing. The area is well-enclosed, but the neon green balls inevitably wind up on the floor all around the area.
Just outside of the bouncers is a game room with a small selection of video games and some skill games like whack-a-mole. They have a Wii and PlayStation set up, but they're only open for parties. Some candy and vending machines are available, but food is best left for before or after a visit to Jump.
Play times at Jump are Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Admission is $12.95 per child. On Friday evenings, they have a Family Fun Night, where they're open from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The cost on Friday nights goes up to $14.95 per kid.
